This tool provides a basic overview of any particular color and colors related to it. The bottom section gives a brief introduction to the color wheel. To choose a color, select a color in the button next to "Search" or type in a hex code, rgb code, or color name into the search bar and click "Search". You can also click on any color shown below to switch to that color.

A shade of a color is a mixture of that color and a certain degree of black. A tint of a color is a mixture of that color and a certain degree of white. The colors below are the shades and tints of rgb(0, 128, 0) with varying degrees of mixture.
A complementary color is a color which exists on the opposite side of the color wheel and can be considered a color's opposite. Complementary colors play well with eachother and can make each other appear brighter, "pop", be used to give contrast to a color which is displayed prominently, and more.
Split complementary colors are a group of three colors which have a relationship similar to that of complementary colors. Instead of picking the "opposite" of a color, find that opposite, then pick colors closely related on each side of the color wheel.
A group of analogous colors are colors which are very close to each other on the color wheel yet distinct from each other. Using analogous colors together can provide a harmonious look so long so long as it is not overdone.
A group of triadic colors are a group of three colors which are spaced evenly across the color wheel. In that sense they are "equidistant" from each other in the same way two complimentary colors are from each other. An example of a group of triads is the primary colors. The colors within a group provide a strong sense of contrast with each other and for that reason should be used carefully.
A group of tetradic colors are a group of four colors which are spaced evenly across the color wheel, similarly to triadic colors. The colors within a group provide a vibrant scheme and strong sense of contrast.
